JAMMU, Sept 22: Dogra Group of Colleges commemorated the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji with a solemn and inspiring programme at the Auditorium of Dogra Educational Complex, bringing together the three constituent institutions of the Trust-Dogra Degree College, Dogra Law College and Dogra College of Education-to honour the legacy of the visionary ruler and reflect upon his enduring contributions to education, social reform, justice and public welfare.
The programme commenced with a floral tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, paying homage to a ruler whose progressive outlook and reformative initiatives continue to occupy an important place in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker of the event, Shri Sanjeev Verma, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), who spoke on the historical significance of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and the continuing relevance of his vision and reformative initiatives. He underlined the importance of acquainting younger generations with the region's history and drawing inspiration from values that contribute to responsible citizenship and social development.
The event was presided over by Sh. R. S. Katal, who recalled Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's progressive initiatives in the fields of education, social justice and public welfare. He highlighted the importance of understanding the Maharaja's reform-oriented vision in its historical context and emphasised that his commitment to institutional development and social progress continues to offer meaningful lessons for the younger generation.
A major highlight of the occasion was the release of Shikshak, the magazine of Dogra College of Education, which showcases the institution's academic, creative and scholarly accomplishments. Adding an academic and reflective dimension to the programme, students of Dogra Group of Colleges delivered thought-provoking speeches on the life, vision and legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.
The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust. The occasion was further enriched by the guidance of Dr. Bela Charak, Director-cum-Principal, Dogra Degree College, and Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, Dogra Group of Colleges. Dr. J. P. Srivastava, Principal, Dogra Law College (Autonomous), and Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education, also extended their support and participated in the event along with the faculty and students of their respective colleges. |
