JAMMU, Sept 22: BJP Senior Leader and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, welcomed the latest indicators of broad-based growth across key sectors of the Indian economy, stating that the encouraging performance reflects the resilience and expanding strength of the Indian economy amid a challenging global environment. Er. Khatana highlighted the continued expansion of India's exports and domestic economic activity, noting that growth across diverse sectors demonstrates the sustained momentum of reforms, manufacturing, agriculture and value addition. He pointed to the 62% growth in India's coconut exports in FY2025-26, which reached Rs 7,038.25 crore, supported by product diversification, value addition and rising international demand. He also highlighted the acceleration in India Inc.'s sales growth, which rose to 19.4% in Q1 FY2027 from 13.9% in the preceding quarter, with manufacturing recording particularly strong expansion.
On agricultural exports, Er. Khatana noted that rice exports to 26 priority markets increased by 1.1% in value and 5.6% in volume compared with the three-year average, reflecting the growing global reach of Indian agricultural products.
He further highlighted that India's goods exports crossed the $200-billion mark, recording growth of more than 15% during the period covered by the report, with petroleum products, electronics and engineering goods contributing significantly to the expansion.
Similarly, tyre exports grew 16% year-on-year in Q1, reaching Rs 7,700 crore, despite global geopolitical and supply-chain challenges.
Er. Khatana said these developments underline the sustained reform and development momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He appreciated the Prime Minister's visionary leadership for strengthening India's productive capacity, expanding global market access and fostering an ecosystem conducive to investment, manufacturing, innovation and employment. |
