| Report on Sports Activities under Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: Government Degree College, Purmandal organized a series of sports activities under the theme “Sports for Swachhata” as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 on 25th and 26th September 2026. The programme was organized by the Sports Committee under the able guidance and leadership of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Indu Khajuria.
The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of cleanliness, physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and social responsibility among students. Various sporting activities, including Tug of War, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Chess, were organized with active participation and great enthusiasm among the students. The activities provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting skills while reinforcing the values of cooperation, discipline and team spirit.
As an integral part of the campaign, a cleanliness drive was also conducted in the college campus. Students and volunteers enthusiastically participated in cleaning the sports ground and adjoining areas. Through their active involvement, the students conveyed the important message that maintaining cleanliness is a collective responsibility and an essential part of a healthy and dignified community life.
The combination of sports and cleanliness activities made the campaign meaningful and engaging. The initiative successfully connected fitness and sportsmanship with the broader message of Swachhata, encouraging students to adopt cleanliness as a regular habit and contribute towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
The worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Indu Khajuria, appreciated the efforts of the Sports Committee, faculty members, volunteers and students for their enthusiastic participation and commendable contribution to the campaign. She encouraged the students to continue promoting cleanliness, discipline and responsible citizenship both within the college and in society.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by the students and staff to uphold the values of Swachhata, responsibility, teamwork and community participation. |
