JAMMU, Sept 28: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ms. Ansuya Jamwal, JKAS, on Monday inaugurated 'Gatisheel Jammu & Kashmir 2.0', a three-day mega exhibition being held at the Convention Centre, Indira Theatre, Canal Road, Jammu.
The exhibition is being organised under the guidance of Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Jammu & Kashmir, with the objective of bringing various Central and Government departments, institutions and organisations onto a common platform to promote awareness, development and opportunities in Jammu, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The inaugural ceremony featured ribbon-cutting and traditional lamp lighting. Hardeep Kaur, Principal, Air Force School; Keshav Chopra, Social Activist Chairman of Samvedna Society and Sanjay Gupta, Social Activist, attended the ceremony as Guests of Honour.
Following the inauguration, the dignitaries visited various exhibition stalls and interacted with representatives of participating organisations. They appreciated the displays highlighting government initiatives, emerging technologies, products, services, research, innovation and development programmes across different sectors.
Several prominent organisations are participating in the exhibition, including India Optel Limited, Troop Comforts Limited, Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited, NATMO, RBI, Oriental Insurance Company Limited, National Centre of Organic Farming, CSIR, Indian Maritime University, ICAR, ICMR, FSSAI, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, BIS, New Space India Limited, Ministry of Earth Sciences, GSI, National Sugar Institute, Central Organisation for Railway Electrification, National e-Governance Division, Central Council for Research in Siddha, IPFT and others.
A special public-service facility by UIDAI has also been made available, allowing eligible visitors to access Aadhaar enrolment and correction/update services, subject to applicable requirements and procedures.
The first day witnessed participation from students, youth, professionals, entrepreneurs, government representatives and members of the general public. Visitors explored the stalls and interacted with participating institutions to learn about public services, emerging technologies, career opportunities and developments across various sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Jammu Ansuya Jamwal appreciated the initiative and said that such exhibitions provide young people with an opportunity to explore their skills, understand emerging career options and gain better direction for their future.
She also highlighted the importance of organising such platforms regularly to connect youth with new opportunities, institutions, technologies and career pathways. She expressed gratitude to MP Jugal Kishore Sharma for his guidance and efforts in bringing the platform to Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Social Activist Keshav Chopra appreciated the initiative and said that 'Gatisheel Jammu & Kashmir 2.0' provides a valuable platform for students, youth, entrepreneurs and the general public to directly learn about government schemes, emerging technologies, innovation and employment-oriented opportunities. He said that such exhibitions help bridge the gap between institutions and the people, particularly the younger generation, by creating awareness about new avenues for skill development, entrepreneurship and career growth. Chopra also appreciated the efforts of MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and the participating departments and organisations for bringing such a comprehensive platform to Jammu. He expressed hope that more such initiatives would be organised in the future to encourage youth participation, innovation and community development. |
