KATRA, Sept 28: MLA Baldev Raj Sharma, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency, today inaugurated and kick-started the construction work of blacktopping and tile work from Fountain Chowk (Fwara Chowk) to Bhumika Temple, Katra, at an estimated cost of Rs 80 lakh.
The MLA stated that this is a very important road of Katra, serving both the local population and a large number of pilgrims visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The completion of the project will significantly improve road conditions, provide smoother and safer movement, and enhance convenience for both residents and pilgrims.
On the occasion, AEE PWD Katra, JE and other staff of PWD Katra were present. Prominent citizens, including Sardari Lal Dubey, Ajay Baru, Ranjit Singh, Sanjay Gandotra, Diwaker Sharma, Ajay Verma, Jugal Kishore and Arun Sharma, besides a large number of local residents, attended the programme.
The local residents expressed their gratitude to MLA Baldev Raj Sharma for taking up the important road work and addressing a long-standing requirement of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA directed the concerned officials and executing agency to complete the work at the earliest without compromising on quality. He specifically instructed the concerned staff to maintain strict quality standards and proper supervision during the execution of the work.
The MLA emphasized that improving road infrastructure in Katra is important not only for the convenience of local residents but also for the lakhs of pilgrims and visitors who travel through the town every year. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening basic infrastructure and improving public facilities across the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency. |
