POONCH, Oct 2: The Indian Army successfully concluded the Transit Facility established at Dharawali, Loran, Poonch for the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities after remaining operational from 18 September to 02 October 2026.
The facility was established to provide essential support and a safe, comfortable transit environment to nomadic families and their livestock during seasonal migration. Over the 15-day period, the Indian Army provided temporary accommodation, hot meals, safe drinking water, medical assistance, veterinary care for livestock and round-the-clock security to ensure the welfare and safety of the travelling families. |
