Jammu, Oct 4: A two days training programme on Spawn Production Technology was organized at Centre for Mushroom Research and Innovation by SAMETI, SKUAST-Jammu. The training programme was conducted under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu and under the direct supervision of Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension of the University. The two days programme emphasized on providing hands on training on various aspects of quality spawn production of various mushrooms to 23 officers of the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of J&K. Lectures and practical sessions on tissue culture of mushrooms, pure culture preparation, preparation of substrates and production of mother and commercial spawn were held during the training programme. Dr. Sachin Gupta, Professor and Incharge, Centre for Mushroom Research and Innovation coordinated the programme and hoped that the training programme shall be of great utility to the farmers. |
