MULANA, Oct 5: M.M. Institute of Computer Technology & Business Management (MMICT & BM), Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mulana, in collaboration with M.M. International School (MMIS), Mulana, organised a Cyber Awareness Programme under Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) for students of Classes IX and X. The initiative aimed to sensitise students about cyber security, safe internet usage and responsible use of digital technologies. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sumit Mittal, Principal, MMICT & BM, and Ms. Sunita Dosaj, Principal, MMIS, Mulana. The session was coordinated by Dr. Rubika Walia, who welcomed the students and teachers and highlighted the growing importance of cyber awareness in today's digitally connected world. The awareness session was addressed by Dr. Shweta Sachdeva, who sensitised students about various aspects of cyber safety, including online fraud, phishing, strong passwords, social media security, cyberbullying and responsible digital behaviour. She explained how students can identify potential cyber threats and encouraged them to remain alert while using online platforms. Around 80 students of Classes IX and X, along with their teachers, actively participated in the programme. To make the session interactive and practical, real-life examples, discussions and a question-answer session were conducted. Students raised several queries related to cyber security, which were addressed by the expert in a simple and practical manner. The programme emphasised that awareness and responsible digital behaviour are the first line of defence against cyber threats. Students were encouraged to avoid suspicious links and messages, protect their personal information, use strong passwords and remain cautious while interacting on social media and other digital platforms. The initiative provided students with valuable knowledge about safe and responsible internet usage while strengthening their understanding of digital citizenship. The ISR activity by MMICT & BM was appreciated as a meaningful step towards creating a digitally aware, responsible and cyber-safe younger generation. |
