The Sikh Youth Association J&K Trust Regd. (SYA J&K Trust Regd.) formally extended its support to the ongoing Morcha through a support letter dated October 9, 2026. The organisation endorsed the campaign for the official recognition of Punjabi in Jammu and Kashmir, describing the language as an integral part of the region's historical, cultural and social identity. It also appealed to the government and concerned authorities to respond positively to the demand. The All J&K Jat Sabha, led by Manjeet Singh, and the All India Jat Mahasabha, led by President Manmohan Choudhary, also extended their support to the agitation. The Jat organisations warned that they could consider blocking the National Highway if the government forced them to demonstrate their strength to get their demand heard. The United Sikh Students Federation (USSF) expressed strong support for the preservation and promotion of Punjabi, describing it as an integral part of the region's identity, history, culture and religious heritage. The All J&K Labana Samaj Sudhar Sabha (Regd.) also expressed solidarity with the campaign, highlighting the importance of protecting Punjabi mother-tongue traditions, cultural identity and heritage. The Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Kadyal, R.S. Pura, and Gurdwara Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, Chak Mohd Yar, R.S. Pura, extended their support to the demand, underlining Punjabi's significance in the community's religious, social and cultural traditions. The District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Rajouri, also conveyed its support for the preservation and promotion of Punjabi. Meanwhile, DGPC Vice President Balwinder Singh (RTI) and General Secretary Surjeet Singh questioned the silence of local National Conference (NC) leaders on the Punjabi language issue as the Morcha entered its ninth consecutive day. The DGPC representatives questioned why neither the NC provincial president nor any former minister from the party had come forward to support or publicly address the demand. They raised concerns over what they described as the continued silence of local NC leadership while Sikh representatives and community organisations had been actively raising the issue. Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman, Gurdwara Rani Talab, Digiana, and a prominent voice of the ongoing Morcha, welcomed the fresh support and expressed gratitude to the All J&K Jat Sabha, All India Jat Sabha, Sikh Youth Association J&K Trust, United Sikh Students Federation, All J&K Labana Samaj Sudhar Sabha, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Kadyal, Gurdwara Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, DGPC Rajouri and all other supporting organisations. |
