Sanjay Pandita Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has told every department to clear its backlog of corruption complaints and cases, with time-bound disposal as the centrepiece of an intensified vigilance push across the Union Territory. In Circular No. 22-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued today, the General Administration Department (Vigilance) directed all Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors of PSUs and heads of autonomous bodies to implement the Central Vigilance Commission’s instructions “in letter and spirit.”
At the core is the CVC’s three-month preventive vigilance campaign, which began on August 17, 2026 and runs into mid-November. It targets five areas, including disposal of pending complaints, disposal of pending cases, capacity-building programmes, digital initiatives, and contract management. These directions were first circulated on August 13, 2026. Departments must now continue the measures in a “time-bound and effective manner.” At the core is the CVC’s three-month preventive vigilance campaign, which began on August 17, 2026 and runs into mid-November.
