Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Oct 14: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Senabathi in Tehsil Ukhral, providing locals a platform to raise their issues and seek on-the-spot redressal of their grievances.
SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah; ACD Mohammad Imran Naik, district and sectoral officers, Executive Engineers and other officials attended the camp.
Emphasising responsive and accountable governance, the DC directed officers to take concrete action to redress the grievances raised by the public and ensure timeline resolution of the same.
Responding to demands raised, the DC directed the FCS&CA department to utilise available storage facilities to stock advance ration for winters. He informed that playfields are being developed in every panchayat, either on available land or within school premises.
Addressing power-related issues, he informed that the tendering process for uncovered areas has been initiated and directed the concerned engineers to replace old and damaged electric poles within one week.
The ACD was instructed to prioritise repair of Panchayat Ghars at Senabathi A and B for their utilisation as public facilities and community halls.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY was directed to ensure proper maintenance of the Ukhral-Senabathi road. The DC said the demand for a bridge has already been taken up with PMGSY authorities and would be pursued for inclusion under an appropriate plan.
Expressing concern over recent fatal road accidents, he informed that funds have been earmarked for safety measures including installation of crash barriers at vulnerable locations. He urged parents and community representatives to counsel young drivers against over-speeding, driving under the influence of intoxicants and violating traffic rules.
The DC directed the Zonal Education Officer to explore staff rationalisation to address teacher shortage in local schools. He said that the matter of posting a Principal at Government Higher Secondary School Senabathi would be taken up with the concerned authorities. He added that boundary walls at vulnerable schools would be constructed in phases and the demand for additional Anganwadi Centres would be considered on priority as new centres are sanctioned.
