Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 16: I, Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, express serious concern over the increase in electricity tariffs and its impact on the trade and industrial sectors of Jammu & Kashmir. The hike in power tariffs has added to the operational costs of industrial units, particularly MSMEs, which are already facing rising raw material prices, transportation expenses, and stiff competition from industries in other states. Higher electricity costs can reduce profit margins, affect competitiveness, discourage fresh investment, and create additional pressure on employment. I urge the Government and the concerned authorities to review the revised tariffs and provide appropriate relief to industrial and commercial consumers. Affordable electricity and a supportive business environment are essential for protecting existing industries, attracting investment, and generating employment for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. |
