Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 2: Timing of the scheduled visit of the national vice president of BJP Ram Madhav to Jammu on Tuesday raised many eyebrows. Although local BJP leadership has termed the visit as a purely organisational matter, keeping in view the ongoing internal turmoil within the ruling National Conference after the cabinet reshuffle, the visit is considered very important. Ram Madhav, who was the architect of stitching the PDP-BJP alliance in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in 2015 and again restitching the alliance in 2016 following the demise of late Mufti Mohammad Sayed, is known for this proximity with leaders of all political parties across Jammu and Kashmir. Ram Madhav’s visit coincides with the date when rebel National Conference leader and Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, announced his resignation. Reports said that during his stay, he is expected to hold important meetings and discussions with party leaders regarding the political situation in the state. Ram Madhav’s visit comes at a time when political turmoil and internal tensions within the National Conference are rife following the cabinet expansion of the Omar Abdullah government in Jammu and Kashmir. His visit will be closely watched amid questions arising within the party and changing political dynamics following the inclusion of new faces in the cabinet. |
