DODA, Nov 6: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, District Police Doda seized a Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration No. JK06A-4492 at Karara Naka for illegally transporting mining material (Bajri) without a valid e-Challan.
The vehicle was intercepted by the Incharge Police Post (IC PP) Karara, along with his team, during routine checking at Karara Naka, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Thathri. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found carrying crushed Bajri without the mandatory e-Challan, in violation of the prescribed mining rules and regulations.
On the basis of the violation, the vehicle was seized. As communicated by the District Mineral Officer (DMO), a penalty of ?11,144 was reflected in the violation notice.
District Police Doda reiterates its firm commitment to curbing illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals across the district. Strict legal action shall continue against violators in close coordination with the concerned Mining Department.
The general public, particularly vehicle operators and transporters, are advised to strictly comply with the prescribed mining rules and regulations and refrain from indulging in illegal mining and transportation of minerals. |
