11/6/2026 9:52:08 PM
Early Times Report

Bandipora, Nov 6: Bandipora Police have arrested two more persons in connection with an alleged prison-linked terror module case involving a banned organisation accused of targeting women for separatist ideology and propaganda, taking the total number of arrests to eight.
A Police officer said that the arrests were made during the ongoing investigation into the case registered under FIR No. 168/2026 under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The arrested persons were identified as Irshad Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, of Chakloo, Baramulla, and Showkat Ahmed Reshi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Reshi, of Watlab, Sopore.
According to police, both accused were allegedly associated with the module and have been taken into custody for questioning and further investigation.
With these arrests, the total number of persons arrested in the case has reached eight. Police said the investigation is continuing to establish the extent of the accused persons’ involvement and identify other individuals and possible links connected with the module.
Pertinently, the case relates to an alleged network linked to a banned organisation, which police had earlier claimed was involved in attempts to promote separatist ideology and propaganda among women.
Police said further arrests could not be ruled out as investigators continue to examine the network and its activities.
Bandipora Police reiterated its commitment to identifying and dismantling networks involved in activities prejudicial to the security and peace of the region, adding that legal action would be taken against all those found involved.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
