PDP Mahila wing holds meeting to speed up membership drive | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 4: Mahila wing president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Vijaya Dogra today exhorted party workers to speed up on-going membership drive to strengthen the party at grass root level. She further called upon the workers to enrol maximum number of women as member of the party to ensure adequate representation of females in the party. Vijaya Dogra was addressing meeting of the Mahila wing of PDP Jammu rural to discuss organisation matter and to review progress of the ongoing membership driver of the party. Large number of women from Jammu rural attended the meeting in which various issues were thoroughly discussed and deliberated upon. Calling upon party workers to spread message of PDP at the grass root level, Vijaya Dogra said that agenda of the party was formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society and need of the hour is to educate the people about revolutionary policies of the party. She said that PDP's policies are focussed on youth and women in particular as party has formulated a comprehensive programme for the socio-economic growth of the women of the State. Vijaya Dogra, while exhorting female workers of the party to speed up the on-going membership drive, said that active participation of the women in politics is must to ensure socio-economic growth of all sections of the society. She further said that it is really of matter of pride for woman folk that Mehbooba Mufti is heading the State. She made it a point that government headed by Mehbooba Mufti has already launched many schemes for the socio-economic growth of the women but need of the hour to the take these schemes to the deserving lot of the society. Emphasizing on the need of spreading message of peace and brotherhood, she said "being a worker of PDP it is our responsibility to frustrate designs of those forces which are hell bent to create disturbance in the State by raking up emotion of the people". She further cautioned that forces inimical to the peace were frustrated due to revolutionary and pro-people steps being initiated by the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti. Susheela Jamwal, Anita Devi, Rupali Devi, Vimla, Tripta Devi, Sushma Devi and others also spoke on the occasion. |
