| Four killed, 5 injured in three separate road mishaps | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: Four persons were killed while five other sustained injuries in three separate road mishaps in Samba and Kathua district. Meanwhile police have arrested one truck driver for hitting the motorcycle resulting into death of two persons.
Police said that two youth riding motorcycle when a truck bearing registration number JK02AP- 1125 hit the motorcycle at Sidco Chowk Bari Brahmana resulting on the spot death of two youths.
The deceased have been identified as Sanju Massi (18) son of Pinka Massi resident of Teli Basti Bari Brahmana and Rahul Manhas (15) son of unknown resident of Bari Brahmana.
Police shifted both the bodies to the mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for legal formalities.
Police further said that truck driver namely Daljit Singh son Kahanaya Singh, resident of Pouni Parkh Reasi has been arrested while both the vehicles have been seized.
A case in this connection has been registered at Bari Brahmana police station and further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, an elderly pedestrian lost his life when a motorcycle bearing registration number JK21A-1213 driven by an unknown rider from Vijaypur towards Jammu hit the pedestrian at Patli Morh.
The injured was immediately shifted to GMC&H Jammu for treatment and during treatment he failed to respond the treatment. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 101/2016 has been registered at this Bari Brahmana and investigation of the case is going on.
Yet in another accident in Kathua one passenger was killed while five others sustained injuries when the minibus they were travelling in rolled down at Chak Nathal in Rajbagh area.
Police said that at around 1150 hrs one minibus bearing registration number JK14-7919 on its way from Bobia to Chadwal while reaching near Chak Nathal rolled down resulting death of one passenger and injuries to five others.
Police said, "The deceased has been identified as Raqib son of Yousaf of Marheen while injured have been identified as Darshana Devi (60) wife of Thuru Ram of Dhaloti, Shanti Devi (60) wife of Om Parkash of Uttri, Raghubir Singh (70) son of Ram Partap, Ashok Kumar (40) son of Sansar Chand (40), Ashok Kumar (32) son of Parkash Chand trio residents of Bobia."
Police said that Ashok was referred to Pathankote for specialized treatment while Raghubir Singh shifted to GMC&H and others were being treated at District Hospital Kathua. A case stands registered in this regard and further investigations are on. |
