3 inter-state drug peddlers held with 4.8 kg ganja | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: Three inter-state drug peddlers have been arrested in separate incidents at Trikuta Nagar and Sainik Colony area and 4.8 kg ganja was recovered from their possession. Police spokesman said that in Continuation to operation 'SANJEEVANI' the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu, today on specific information Trikuta Nagar police led by Inspector Bharat Sharma raise a naka and intercepted two bihari persons who have been identified as Laalu and Hira Lal Sahu. "During search, police recovered 3 kg ganja from their possession and they have been arrested while drug was seized", said a police official adding that a case under FIR 166/16 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against them. Meanwhile, Sainik colony police today claimed to have apprehended an inter-state drug peddler and recovered 1.8 kg ganja from his possession. Spokesman further said that on specific information by District Special Branch along with In-charge police post Sainik Colony apprehended one person namely Vikas Sahu son of Suresh Sahu of Rampur District Patna presently at Gangyal Jammu. "During search of Vikas, police recovered 1.8 Kg Ganja from his possession", said spokesman adding that police arrested the accused and sized consignment. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 83/2016 under section 8/20 NDPS Act registered in Police Station Channi Himat and further investigation taken up. |
