Police solves blind murder, five held

Rajouri, Nov 23: Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Rajouri Police claimed to have cracked the blind murder mystery within 12 hrs after its constitution to solve the murder' of a youth near Rajouri town in the late evening hours of Monday with the arrest of five accused of six booked under sections 302 & 364 RPC.
According to police sources, the accused have been identified as Shadab Khan r/o Darhal, Zahoor Bhat, Imran Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed and Touseef Ahmed while the hunt is on to apprehend the sixth accused Wasim Akram r/o Katarmalt.
The police have booked six colleagues/friends of deceased Wasim Raja Malik s/o Abdul Qadir r/o Darh in connection with his alleged murder.
During the initial investigation of murder in which the body of the youth was reportedly was pushed into a deep gorge on Rajouri-Darhal road, police came to know from some local that a car bearing registration No. JK11-3557 has met with an accident and youth was injured critically.
Javid Iqbal,SHO,Darhal was rushed to the spot and started rescue operations while Hamid Choudhry, DySP (Hqrs) also reached there and shifted Wasim Raja Malik to the District Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
"During physical inspection doctors noticed deep cut on the neck and injuries on the head of the deceased and reportedly apprehended possibility of murder, sources added.
They said father and other members of the family also reached the hospital and alleged that Wasim was murdered.
On the complaint of the father of the deceased, the police have booked six youths under Sections 302 (murder) and 364 (abduction in order to murder) of the RPC at the Darhal police station.
Following written complaint from bereaved family, Atul Sharma , SSP Rajouri constituted a SIT headed by Zakir S. Mirza, SDPO, Manjakot and assigned job to probe the blind murder case.
"SIT taking all possible angles collected various leads, the SIT arrested youths and escorted them to Darhal police station for further questioning.
When contacted, Zakir S Mirza, SDPO said investigation has been started and today police recorded the statements of the family members.
