JKCA violates SC directions!

Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 23: Lies! Lies and Lies! This is what the office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) have been perpetuating.
From denying that the directions of Supreme Court are binding on them to continue withdrawing funds from a particular branch of HDFC Bank in violation of court directions, sources said that JKCA has been is virtually among the leading cricket associations in the country which have not respected verdict of the country's highest court. Sources said that the bank has been generously allowing the JKCA Treasurer Abdul Rauf who is ineligible to hold any post in JKCA as per SC directions to withdrawn money according to his own sweet will.
JKCA office bearers led by Imran Raza Ansari and General Secretary Iqbal Shah had on day one denied of having received any communication from BCCI that the association was no more legal and president should put up his papers. They have all along maintained that the election of JKCA office bearers was legal and that Minister for Sports Imran Raza Ansari is the President of JKCA despite knowing well about the directions of Supreme Court (SC).
Ex-cricketers are of the view that JKCA is now clearly an illegal body and the members should have by now accepted this reality, which is not the case. In the third status report submitted by the Supreme Court Committee before the Supreme Court, the committee has clearly said that several office bearers at both the BCCI and the state associations continue to hold the posts although they stand disqualified as per the Order of this Supreme Court while adding that those individuals who fall foul of these norms be declared to cease to hold office forthwith.
The committee has further requested the Supreme Court that it should pass an order directing and declaring all Office Bearers of the BCCI and the state associations who are disqualified by virtue of the norms at Para 4 above cease to hold office forthwith; that all administrative and management matters be carried out by CEO of BCCI without advertence to the office bearers; that it should also pass any direction which it deems fit for the implementation of judgment dated July 18, 2016.
Stating that the association have been deliberately delaying implementation of the SC Judgment, the committee has said that the state association should have by now disqualified a person from being an Office Bearer if he or she is not a citizen of India; has attained the age of 70 years; is declared to be insolvent, or of unsound mind; is a minister or government servant; holds any office or post in a sports or athletic association or federation apart from cricket; has been an Office Bearer of the BCCI for a cumulative period of 9 years or has been charged by a Court of law for having committed any criminal offence.
Had JKCA accepted these directions of the Supreme Court, they would have by now held fresh elections. But due to alleged vested interest, sources said that JKCA is deliberately delaying holding of fresh elections since they know that both the President Imran Raza Ansari and Treasurer Abdul Rauf would have no option but to quit. Imran is a minister in the ruling coalition while Rauf has crossed the 70 year age limit. Hence, they both stand disqualified to hold any position in JKCA.
But they have been repeatedly saying that they are yet to receive any communication with regard to their legality and illegality from the BCCI when the fact is that the directions have been issued by the Supreme Court. The court had sought compliance from JKCA but it preferred to sit silent and take no action over the directions of the Supreme Court (SC). The office bearers continued in office and kept withdrawing funds available within it in the HDFC bank. Not only did they do this, they even vehemently defended the election which was held a day after Supreme Court judgment.
It needs to be reiterated here that Abdul Rauf has been withdrawing funds despite knowing well that he is doing so illegally. The committee has said that all associations which includes JKCA have continuously violated Supreme Court directions. It has stressed that all association should be told to immediately dissolve all the bodies and hold fresh elections in complete consonance with the directions of recommendations the Lodha committee Supreme Court. But it seems, JKCA is unlikely to learn a lesson and likely to continue with illegal body headed by Imran Raza Ansari.
