Ceasefire violation: Six including three army jawans injured in Pak Firing along LoC

Rajouri, Nov 23: The Pakistani troops on Wednesday violated ceasefire yet again and resorted to heavy shelling and firing at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region, injuring six persons including three army jawans, two BSF jawans and one porter in the exchange of fire in Rajouri and Poonch sector.
During intense exchange of heavy firing, mortar shelling, three soldiers and two BSF jawans were injured in Nowshera sub division and in BG sector on the boundary of Rajouri-Poonch districts.
Sources said in Kalal village three animal of Barkat Hussain also received splinter injuries and about 150 bundles of dry grass also destroyed in the fire.
"Late today evening when Pakistan army resorted to heavy unprovoked mortar shelling in Manjakot sector a civilian namely Abdul Majid s/o Mohd Shafi r/o village Nambla (Keri) who is working as porter received splinter injuries when a mortar shell fell near village Naika, sources said.
They added that Indian soldiers who were injured in exchange of fire today along LoC in Kalal area in Nowshera Sub Division have been identified as Subedar Satwinder Singh, Naik Baldev and gunner Sarbjit Singh of Light Infantry Regiment while the injured BSF jawans who got injured in BG sector have been identified as Constable Rajesh Kumar and Head Constable Mohd Shabir.
"A mortar shell fell in village Deeng resulting in an injury to a buffalo belong to Darshan Lal and a veterinary doctor has been sent to treat it on spot" said SDM Nowshera.
He added till today five civilians were injured, seven houses were damaged, eleven cattle were injured and more than 500 bundles of dry grass have been destroyed in Nowshera sub division till today.
Earlier Pakistan troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling in many areas in Nowshera sub division in the morning today which continued intermittently till late evening.
Defence PRO Manish Mehta said "The Pakistan Army fired at Indian posts along the LoC in Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sectors of Poonch and Rajouri districts.
"They are using 120 mm mortars and automatics to target our positions, our posts are responding strongly and giving a befitting reply," he added. Col Mehta said the firing from across the other side came to halt at around 1800hrs at all locations
Meanwhile as per media reports several forward posts of Pakistan army have been destroyed and few Pakistan soldier have been killed in areas opposite to Balakot and Nowshera sectors when Indian army retaliated fittingly Pakistan army's unprovoked heavy firing / mortar shelling that has been taking place since morning.
Pakistan's Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) has claimed that three soldiers of Pakistan army namely CaptTaimoor Ali Khan, Havildar Mushtaq Hussain & L/Nk Ghulam Hussian have been killed today on the LoC in heavy retaliation by the Indian Army.
Pertinently Indian army has launched counter-offensive after three soldier were killed in Machhil Sector which according to defence sources have caused collateral damage to enemy side in Balakot and Nowshera sectors.
Brigadier, Northern Command, S Gotra, said the Indian Army launched a counter-offensive along the LoC in retaliation to yesterday's offensive in Machhil sector of Kashmir.
