Kishtwar, Doda highway opens for traffic after 4 days | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Jammu, Mar 14: After three day blockade, the Jammu-Batote-Kishtwar highway was opened for vehicular movement today. SSP National Highway Dr. Haseeb Mughal informed the Early Times, that after clearing landslides at Raggi Nallah and Malhori, the traffic on Batote-Kishtwar stretch of the highway was cleared by traffic authorities with the help of General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) men, Police and civil administration for vehicular movement. He added that all the stranded vehicles on this 110 KM road were cleared. He said that the traffic on 35 KM Doda-Bhaderwah road stretch remains suspended on 4th consecutive day today due to massive landslide at Bhalla which is yet to be cleared even though the concerned agencies carried out blasting of rocks at Bhallah. Mughal said that the traffic on Doda-Bhaderwah road will be restored by tomorrow adding the authorities in last 24 hours cleared landslides at Korapani, Khellani, Pul Doda, Naseeb Nagar, Khara, and Hasti on Kishtwar-Batote road, while landslide at Shoran on Thatri-Gandoh and Pranoo and Druddu on Doda Bhaderwah road was also cleared on war footing basis. |
