CJM rejects bail plea of acid attack accused | | | Srinagar, Feb 14 : The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) here has rejected bail applications of two accused in acid attack on a law student at Nowshera Srinagar . According to Chief Prosecuting Officer Afaq Ahmad, the bail pleas were rejected by Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar. Police had arrested the main conspirator, Irshad of Wazir Bagh area of the city and his accomplice Omar Noor of Bemina who threw acid on the 21-year-old student near Nowshehra area of east City. A case (FIR No 136/14) was registered in Police Station Soura under various sections of RPC and police subsequently started investigation of the case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to trace out the culprits. Later Irshad was apprehended and his sustained interrogation led to the arrest of Omar. The investigation revealed that Irshad had made Omar to flee from the state. Omar reached Jammu first then went to Ajmer via Delhi but later ran out of money. Police picked him up from Jammu after he was back to the winter capital city. |
