SI among three injured in stone pelting as family resists arrest of accused | | | Rajouri, Feb 14: A Sub Inspector (SI) and a Special Police Officer (SPO) from Police Station Darhal of Rajouri among three persons injured when relatives of an accused resisted arrest in village Dhani- Ujjhan under jurisdiction of Police Station Darhal and started pelting stones. Police sources said that on Friday two families in the above mentioned village had scuffle over some domestic dispute and the victim identified as Wahida d/o Abdul Latie lodged a complaint against her cousin identified namely as Azaz Ahmed s/o Mohd Aslam."Following complaint of Wahida lodged with police, the concerned police lodged a case against FIR 28/2015 u/s 294/341/354 RPC and today a police team led by Investigation Officer (I/O) Navneet Verma , Probationer Sub Inspector (PSI) accompanied by Mohd Farooq,SPO and others went to the village to secure the arrest of the accused, police sources said. Sources said, "Hardly the police party had entered the village the relatives of accused resisted the arrest and also started pelting stones on police party resulting injuries to Navneet Verma PSI and SPO. "On seeing that his son was injured in the stone pelting, Shafait Begam , mother of injured SPO (who happened to live in same locality) rushed for his rescue but was also injured in the stone pelting, police sources said. On getting the information of attack on the police party, the additional force from Rajouri was rushed to the village, said Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri Dr Haseeb Mughal. He added that all the members of accused party have gone underground to evade their arrest. Meanwhile Dr Iqbal Malik , BMO Darhal, said that the three injured after first-aid were shifted to the District Hospital Rajouri for further treatment.Police sources also said that in bid to defence their assulat opn police team, a member of the accused party identified namely as Amjad s/o Mohd Aslam also had came to hospital at Darhal alleging that he was severely thrashed by the police. "But he was discharged after formal first aid as he had no major injury, sources added. |
