Umesh Rekhi, Rinku Sharma qualify as national refrees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 1: Two Karatekas namely Umesh Rekhi from District Jammu and Rinku Sharma from District Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir have qualified their Refreeship examination. According to press release, the result was received by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir (AKAJK) from the National Federation Karate Association of India (KAI) recognized by Govt. of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) Member World Karate Federation (WKF) recognized by International Olympic (IOC), Member of Sport Accord & International World Games Association (IWGA). They have qualified KUMITE refree exam. They were recommended by the State Karate Association for the course. Earlier they successfully attended the seminar conducted by KAI under the chairmanship of S. Bhaskar, Chairman Refree Commission, KAI. Thereafter they appeared in the examination held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi during the recently held KAI Senior National Karate Championship. Both of them qualified the theoretical as well as practical exam and have been certified as KUMITE refrees of Karate Association of India. This is a great achievement of our state that along with the other achievements, our state karatekas will also be judging the kumite events in the arena in the national level tournaments of karate which is a matter of pride for our state. Ambedkar Gupta, President of State Karate Association congratulated both of them for their achievement. He also thanked Karate R. Thiagarajan, President, KAI and Shihan Bharat Sharma, General Secretary, KAI for their support. |
