| On-the-spot Flower Painting/Drawing competition organized | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 1: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM today conducted 'On-the-spot Flower Painting/Drawing competition' at CSIR-IIIM main campus. About 400-450 children from 25 schools of Jammu region of J&K participated in the event. This programme is a part of National seminar cum exhibition of Kissan Mela,
The event was categorized in three groups viz. group A (5-8 years), group B (9-12 years) and group C (13-16 years). Children of group B and C were given the flowers of Pansy and Nasturtium respectively. Three participants of each group will be chosen for prizes. Result of the flower painting / drawing competition will be sent to respective schools and prizes will be distributed on 15th March, 2015 during National seminar cum exhibition of Kissan Mela, Entrepreneurship Programme and Flower Show. The main purpose of this event is to encourage children towards plant science especially flowers and promotion of entrepreneurship in future. Dr. Suresh Chandra (Secretary), Dr. Narendra Kumar, Mr. V.K. Khanna, Mr Chanderpal Singh (Joint Secretaries), and other staff members of CSIR-IIIM Jammu were present during the event. This programme was under the guidance of Dr. Ram Vishwakarma, Director, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu. He has keen interest in such types of programmes. |
