Army, ECI and intl agencies and not the Pak or Hurriyat made JK elections success: BJP | | | Jammu, Mar 1 : Bhartiya Janta Party has denied the claim made by chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that soft approach of Pakistan, Hurriyat , separatist and militants made the state assembly success. Talking to Early Times, BJP MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina said it was hard work of army, intelligence agencies and that election commission of India only that played the important role in peaceful and large scale participation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the state assembly elections. "The heavy mandate to both the parties in PDP and BJP is attributed to the fearless participation of people of Jammu and Kashmir who were given a very conducive atmosphere by the army as well as the intelligence agencies that worked day and night to make the elections a great success," said the Nowshera MLA. Mufti in a press conference immediately after the swearing in ceremony while addressing the media had said that Pakistan's soft approach and Hurriyat and separatists' non-interference in the process had made the election success. Ravinder also said that though both the parties having different ideologies have come together with a tacit understanding to run the government, yet BJP upholds its priority issues. "We have not surrendered to any issue ranging from Art 370 to delimitation of constituencies. We have entered into an understanding to run the government for six years giving the people good governance ," said Raina adding that no sooner the people of Kashmir would understand the miseries brought to them through Art 370, they themselves would kick it out of the state . He however said that Prime Minister Narinder Modi had given a call for a debate on it and if it has to go , it will go. It is a wall of hatred among the two regions also, he said. On being asked that it is BJP that took the initiative to rope in Peoples Conference representative Sajjad Lone in the cabinet, Raina said that BJP's approach is wide and ranging. "It was under the dynamic leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee only that Hizbul Muhjahideen was taken on board for talks. Anybody who pledges its integrity with constitution of India is welcome into the BJP fold," said Raina. On initiatives of peace process with Pakistan as advocated by chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed , Raina said that priority concern for the state and centre should be to get back the territories illegally held by Pakistan before any such venturing. Earlier, the newly crowned BJP MoS Sunil Sharma from Kishtwar in BJP-PDP combine while talking to Early Times however reserved his comments on the contentious issue like north pole-south pole joining hands for power sharing and chief minister expressing gratitude to Pakistan and militants on soft approach during elections. "Today we have taken oath on the development issue only and our priority is to dig out potential areas from where employment can be generated for the unemployed youth of the state". He laid the onus of certain questions to be the prerogative of spokesmen of the party both in centre as well as state. |
