New transfer policy on cards in Edu deptt | Council-2015, Question Hour | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 30 : Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar said that the state government is contemplating to develop a transfer policy in the education sector for Ladakh region to address issues related to posting tenures of non-locals in the region. Minister said this while replying to a question by Haji Anayat Ali in the Legislative Council today. He said against 161 sanctioned posts of lecturers in 14 Higher Secondary Schools of Kargil district 78 lecturers are in position and 83 are lying vacant. Minister said these posts shall be filled up during the coming academic session. He said that these posts are being filled up on academic arrangement for the academic session by the Chief Education Officer. Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri raised supplementary to the question. He said that those teachers who have been transferred to far-off and who have spent more than four years at that place of posting shall be brought back soon. "I am duty bound to bring them back within a month," added Naeem. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi while replying to a question by Charanjit Singh informed Legislative Council that state government has taken a number of steps for promotion of Punjabi language. Minister said that several steps including publication of literacy general "Sheeraza" annual anthology books, grant of subsidy for publication, best book award of Rs. 51000, organization of seminars, musharias, literary conferences, writers camp, play secret competition, theatre festivals, folk festival, financial assistance to literacy and cultural organizations have been initiated. Priya said that Punjabi has been introduced as a subject at the high and higher secondary level and is being taught in 18 Degree Colleges of the State. She said no teacher has been detached from any of the school or college and no post stands abolished or converted into post of other subjects. Intervening in the discussion, the Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar, said that rationalization of student teacher ratio is being done while appointing persons as Lectures.He said if need arises academic arrangements are also being made. Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Dr. Shahnaz Ganai raised the supplementaries to the question. |
