Niharika Bhawan Katra sans safe drinking water facility 3/31/2015 12:35:24 AM Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report katra, Mar 30: As comfort is top priority for pilgrims to Vaishno Devi, the accommodation for the Vaishnodevi pilgrims at Holy Town Katra is becoming a serious problem as many pilgrims are facing problems as accommodation -the Rest House Nikarika Bhawan at base camp of the holy shrine at Katra functional under Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Devi Shrine Board presently is lacking safe drinking water facility. As the rooms in dharamshaalas (rest houses) are also available in online advance booking and hundreds of pilgrims these days are facing problems due to non availability of accommodation at Niharika Bhawan Katra. One pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh said, "We had got positive response for the booking of room at Niharika Bhavan wen we booked the room online but when we reached here at Katra but we are not getting the rooms. Another yatri namely Sunil Sharma told Early Times that the yatries are facing inconvenience and are falling prey to the touts of private lodges which are situated in narrow lanes and sometimes far from the main city. The officials Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board deployed at Niharika Complex when contacted by Early Times on promised anonymity regretted that we are not allowing the yatries to stay at Niharika due to the 'water supplied' to Bhavan is contaminated and keeping in view of health of pilgrims we are allowing their stay as the SMVDSB has its serious concern over the facilities given to the Yatries.
