Terming 'recruitment policy' anti youth, Rana seeks its immediate rollback | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: Criticizing the New Recruitment Policy, Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today said the PDP-BJP Government has shown high degree of insensitivity and demanded immediate roll back of the said policy. The Provincial President sought immediate roll back of the policy and called for reinvigorating the existing recruitment agencies to ensure time bound recruitment in a transparent manner. "There is a general apprehension that the policy will lead to rampant corruption, political interference and nepotism with merit holders finding themselves in lurch", the Provincial President said while addressing public meetings at Marh and Chibbah Panchayats in Nagrota Assembly Constituency. "The issue being highly sensitive, the government should avoid indulging in misplaced misadventurism, he said, adding that his party will not allow anti-youth machinations to succeed. "The policy is fraught with the temptation of political interference which has potential of marring the career of youth", he maintained. Questioning credibility of new policy, he said the temporary appointments with rider of seven years satisfactory performance for regularisation is bound to result in uncertainty of those appointed. He asked the government not to play with the career of educated youth, as those appointed will always feel a sword hanging over them and expressed surprise over bulldozing the well established mechanism and subjecting recruitment to whims and fantasies of the ruling class. "Government should have given a serious thought to unemployment problem, Rana said adding, "in a situation like the one prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, transparency and fair-play is important to satiate the urges of the important segment of society." |
