After snatching constitutional rights of OBCs, BJP now deprives SCs, STs of their legal rights | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: As BJP leadership is all out to snatch constitutional rights of weaker sections, criticism of party ministers have started from different for not caring wishes and aspirations of the all sections of the society. After snatching constitutional rights of Other Backward Classes (OBCs), the BJP has initiated another step to deprive Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) of their legal rights of reservation in government jobs. The new recruitment policy announced by the government in which recruitment would be conducted on contractual basis there is no provision of reservation. BJP ministers, including one SC and another ST, were signatory of the new recruitment policy because they were very much present in the Cabinet meeting which was held on Sunday especially for getting this policy approved. Credible sources said that SC and OBC leaders in the party have stepped up campaign against leadership for protecting interests of only some particular castes while as weaker sections are completely ignored. First time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, BJP has won all the seven seats reserved for SC in Jammu province in the Assembly elections but adequate representation is not given to the SC. Similarly OBCs voted unblock in favour BJP in Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections but when question emerged to nominate three OBCs MLCs as constitution, the party leadership nominated tainted persons yet to deprive OBCs of their constitutional rights. As per constitution of the J&K, out of eight nominated MLCs, three should be from socially and economically weaker sections but BJP leadership has given representation of those who have not contributed anything for the party in Assembly elections. Credible sources in the BJP said that some SC and OBC leaders of the party have decided to approach party high command against "discrimination" meted out them by the state leadership. They alleged that most of the state leaders are working against weaker sections. |
