Another cop held in ‘drug peddling’ case | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 14: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, bootleggers and other anti social elements, the Rajouri Police today claimed to have arrested drug peddlers have arrested it Selection Grade Constable from Mandi Chowk area along with a consignment of Charas. “The accused cop has been identified as Selection Grade Constable Mohd Parviz s/o Noor Hussian resident of Daraj in Darhal tehsil presently posted in a local court, police sources said. They said, “Rajouri police under the supervision of AK Attri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch police range and Dr Haseeb Mughal, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) has constituted a team headed by Iftkhar Ahmed Dy SP (Operations) to carry out operations against drug traffickers and drug peddlers.” During patrolling in Gujjar Mandi Chowk area on Tuesday, police team intercepted one person for his suspicious movements and during frisking recovered two Corns filled with Charas about 100 gmas. The accused has been booked at Rajouri police station under 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act (FIR No 242/15) and was under sustain questioning by the police to know his local and non-local contacts and their modes operandi. Earlier Rajouri police has arrested a police constable involved in the illegal practice of drug peddling on April 30 and has recovered intoxicants including 12 bottles of psychotropic substances Corex, 88 Parron Spas Capsules and 20 gms Cannabis (Chars) from his possession. During enquiry, it came into the light that the accused person is a Constable in J&K Police and presently posted at District Police Lines Poonch. |
