Roshni Scam: FIR lodged against revenue officials, investigation on | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) Jammu lodged case against revenue officials of the revenue officers / officials of District Jammu for their alleged omissions and commission who in league with illegal occupants of state land have regularized state land in the name of illegal occupants. According to spokesperson with SVO Jammu, the verification conducted by State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Jammu on a complaint of Raj Kumar s/o Sh Badri Nath of 10-B, New Plot Jammu forwarded by the Special Judge Anti corruption regarding illegal conferment of state land to beneficiaries under the Jammu and Kashmir state lands (vesting of ownership rights to the occupants) Act 2001, that the officers/officials of revenue department of District Jammu by abuse of their officials position as public servants conferred undue benefits upon the illegal occupants of the state land by ignoring the laid down provisions of Roshni Act and rules framed there under. He said that they conferred ownership rights of the state land wrongfully to selective undeserving persons in league with beneficiaries and hence inflicted huge monetary loss to the state exchequer with the results that the purpose of Jammu and Kashmir state lands (vesting of ownership rights to the occupants) Act 2001, i.e. generation of revenue for undertaking development works in the state was defeated. Thus the omissions and commission of the revenue officers / officials of District Jammu who in league with illegal occupants of state land have regularized state land in the name of illegal occupants disclose the commission of offences punishable u/s 5(1) (c) 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C. Act 2006 and 120-B RPC. ‘Accordingly a case FIR No. 22/2015 has been registered in P/S Vigilance Organisation, Jammu, he added. |
