Police rescues man trapped in flash floods

Rajouri, May 14: Nowshera police under the supervision of Rakesh Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) has rescued middle aged man trapped in the flash floods in a seasonal rivulet following heavy rains in the area in the afternoon today.
Police sources said that one Kalam Din s/o Makhan Din of village Kanara under Nowshera Police Station and farmer got trapped in flash floods when he was crossing the Jameer nalluh. “He however has managed to climb on a big boulder within the rivulet and raised alarm for help, police sources said, adding, that the locals rushed to the spot and also informed the local police.”
“On receiving information, the police party led by ASP Surgan Shukla, SDPO Nowshera rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals, sources said, and added Police also sought the assistance of local army unit in the rescue of the trapped civilian.
“Timely and swift action by the police and army personnel was appreciated by the locals, sources said.

One killed, two injured in different road mishaps

Samba, May 14: One person was killed while two others sustained injuries in two different road mishaps in samba.
According to the police sources, an unknown vehicle hit a person in Samba. “After getting the information police rushed the spot and shifted injured to District Hospital Samba where doctors declared him as brought dead.
“The deceased has been identified namely as Vikas Sharma s/o Subash Chander of Jandi Hirannagar at present in Kot Balwal Jammu, police said.
Yet in another road which took place at Budhwani Samba one unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle injuring the driver and his pillion rider.
Locals rushed the injured to District Hospital Samba from where doctors referred to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu.
The injured duo has been identified as Gurdeep Kumar s/o of Madan Lal of Meen Charkaan Bari Brahmana and Rakesh Kumar s/o Madan Lal of Mandi Kheri Samba.
Police has registered a case in this connection and investigation is going on.
