| Cop among 2 killed in road mishap | | |

JAMMU, May 14: A police constable among two killed when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district today.
“The deceased has been identified as a selection grade constable Mohammad Sharief and a driver of a private van Amanat Ali, police sources said.
Sources said that accident took place when a vehicle on way towards Banihal from Ramban plunged into the gorge near Chamral Morh resulting on spot deaths of two persons and injuries to another.
“Soon after the information, the local police started rescue cum search operation and shifted the injured to the nearby hospital for medical treatment, sources added
They said the deceased constable was going to join his duties in Banihal. Police sources also added that bodies have been recovered from accident site and shifted same to the hospital for post-mortem. |
