Jagroop of Punjab wins Udhampur Kawa dangal

JAMMU, June 12 : Wrestler Jagroop of Amritsar in Punjab clinched the VIIth Annual Udhampur Kawa Kesari Dangal title outplaying Benia Min of J&K Police in the main bout that took place at Government High School Kawa.
Dangal was organized by Kawa Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Association president, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Durga Dass Padha. Out of a total of 1,98,000 expenses, Rs 21,000 contributed by contractor, Rajesh Gupta. Treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, who gave away the cash prizes. Varinder Badyal, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sub-Inspector Lakhbinder Singh and Naib Tehsildar Santokh Chand were guests of honour. Winner of main bout, wrestler Jagroop was awarded handsome cash prize of Rs 16,000 while Benia Min got Rs 15,000. The second main bout won by Ajay Sharma of Udhampur who beat Manna of Chandigarh. In another fight for second bout, Mandeep Dhollu defeated Nisar Ahmed of Doda. Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this event included Durga Dass Padha, Madan Lal Mansotra, Sat Paul Sharma, Raj Mohd., Rajinder Singh Katoch, Yovraj Singh Katoch, Romesh Mansotra, vijay Kumar Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Raj Kishore, Subash Chander, Sudesh Kumar Magotra, Numberdar Hukam Chand, Basant Ram, Deepak Anand, Tulinder Kumar, Santokh Chand, Laxhman Singh Katoch, Mohd. Fareed, Om Parkash Verma, Murli Dhar (Munna). Others Results: Roshan Lal Sharma of J&K Police beat Krishan of Delhi, Gurpez of Amritsar beat Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara, Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu beat Tinku of Rohtak, Amir Khan of Bajrangi Akhara beat Tinku of Haryana, Sheru of Ghazibad beat Billu of Kot Bhawal, Teq Ali of Mallerkotla (Punjab) beat Laikat Ali of Panthal, Dinu of Kathua beat Gurjant of Amritsar, Raj Kumar of Delhi beat Muskeen of Ramnagar, Yeshbir Fougi of Phagwara beat Tariq of Doda, Babba of Kot Bhawal Maipat of Chandigarh, Kalu of Bishnah beat Chinni of Banaras, Bobari of Sarore beat Joban of Chandigarh and Salman of Chopra beat Karnail Singh of Balate.
