Army man injured in accidental fire, BSF officer injured in land mine blast | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 12: An army personnel was injured in an accidental gunfire while he was cleaning his rifle in Mankote area of Poonch district. Official sources told that the personnel identified as Sepoy Gurpreet Singh of Rajouri-based 62 Field Regiment posted at Khera 01 Post near Line of Control (LoC) this morning at 9:15 was cleaning his Insas rifle when it went off accidentally resulting in critical injuries to his fingers. The personnel was immediately rushed to General Hospital Rajouri where he is being treated upon. A Border Security Force (BSF) Sub-Inspector was injured in a land mine blast near Line of Control in Tanghdar sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara district, an official said. The official said that the BSF man identified as Man Singh of 16 Battalion was injured when he stepped on a land mine. "Due to blast, his left leg was critically hurt," he said. |
