DODA, June 12: Most of the ration depots in this district are empty these days. According to reports, many villages as well as tehsil are facing acute shortage of ration supply for the last three months. "It seems there is some conspiracy in creating scarcity of ration by vested interests and incapable officers," said many people who spoke to Early Times. "Majority of the population of the area is poor depends on the supply of ration from the government depots. The people will starve if they will not get the ration at appropriate time," the people said. A deputation of people also approached office of Customer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) and apprised them about the ration scarcity. An official of CAPD said the ration for tehsil Bunjwah has been received by the TSO Thathri and the department is unaware about the delay. He said the department will inquire into the matter and hassle free ration will be distributed soon. Assistant Director CAPD Doda, Mohammed Sayeed told Early Times that the department has already dispatched ration that includes sugar and rice to almost all areas. He said the remaining areas will also get the stock soon. "There was delay in supply of atta because of non-cooperation by the mill operators. The problem has been sorted out now and people will get atta at their ration depots within a week," he added. |
