| Pakistan violates ceasefire in Pargwal sub sector of Jammu, BSF retaliates | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 12: Amid an ongoing tug of war between New Delhi and Islamabad over Indian Army's recent massive operation in Myanmar, Pakistan troops violated ceasefire in Pargwal sector of Jammu and Kashmir late on Thursday, targeting several BSF border outposts.
This is the second ceasefire violation by the Pakistan troops in two days.
According to reports, three BSF border outposts came under severe fire from the Pakistan side, forcing the security forces to retaliate in equal measure.
The Pakistan troops had on Thursday morning violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing since 9.15 am as the troops fired intermittently using small arms and automatic weapons.
The BSF, however, gave a befitting reply to unprovoked firing by the Pakistani side.
Earlier on Sunday, the Pakistan army violated ceasefire along LoC in the frontier district Poonch.
The Pakistani troops fired several rounds towards the India Army position in Balakote sector.
Pakistan, rattled by Indian Army's surgical attack on militants in Myanmar on Tuesday and subsequent warnings by NDA ministers, has reacted strongly by saying "it will protect its territory at all costs and this message should be heard loud and clear."
Terming the recent statements by the Indian leadership as "irresponsible", Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday said that the atmosphere for relations between the two nuclear-armed neighbours has been hampered even as the country's parliament passed resolutions against India.
"Recent statements by Indian ministers have hampered our relations with India," the premier said while addressing journalists at the foreign office, Radio Pakistan reported.
"Despite these statements, we will continue our efforts towards good neighbourly relations but they need to be reciprocated," Sharif maintained.
The premier's comments came during a time of constant verbal exchanges between the two countries. Indian Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore warned that the Indian strikes in Myanmar were a message to all countries, including Pakistan and groups harbouring "terror intent" and that India would strike at a "place and time" of its choosing.
Earlier, the Pakistani Parliament unanimously passed resolutions condemning recent anti-Pakistan statements made by the Indian leadership. |
