"Karyakhas" being transferred to other ranges | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 26: "Karyakhas", who are mostly cops and other lower ranks at thana level and have not been transferred for several years, are being shifted to other police ranges. The exercise in this regard is being done by the IGP office to streamline the functioning of police at thana level. The karyakhas do not do police work; they only do the work of SHOs and other senior police officers. They also have the record of wrong people and wrong deeds of anti-social elements under the jurisdiction of police station where they are posted. Majority of them have not been transferred for the past several years. Some of them are taken by the SHOs and other senior officers wherever they are transferred but now they are being transferred to other ranges. In its efforts to streamline the police working at thana level, the IGP office has started effecting transfers of employees at police stations. A transfer list of these employees has already been prepared and released. Another list was likely to be released soon, according to police sources. In the 10 districts of Jammu region, the karyakhas are posted in every police station. A list was being prepared for the transfer of all of them, the sources informed. |
