Cloudbursts cause extensive damage in Ramban 7/27/2015 12:09:30 AM Early Times Report BANIHAL, July 26: The incessant rains and cloud burst in upper reaches of uninhabited area of Lag Gali above Halla village of district Ramban has resulted in flooding of Battanshali nullah and caused extensive damage to the property. Though there has been no loss of life, extensive damages to high school Halla,Public Health Center(PHC) and two shops has been reported. Police reports said that due to the heavy rains and cloudburst in the upper reaches of village Halla some 25 kilometers from Ramban two nullahs were overflowing. Due to this incident, three rooms of Govt High School Halla totally got damaged and washed away in flush flood. Govt Public Health Center (PHC ) Halla has been covered by thick mud and boulders which came with the flash flood. Two water mills (Atta Chakki/Ghrat), two shops and two residential houses also suffered extensive damages. The police team and locals of the area are on job to clean the houses of people where the muddy water and slash entered in to houses when reports last came in. Besides, standing crop in hundreds of kanals were also damaged. When contacted, SHO Ramban Ajay kumar Chib confirmed the incident and loss.
