| Week long sanitation campaign of JMC to begin from Sept 26 | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: On the occasion of 1st anniversary of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Dy. Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Development have decided to have this one week long sanitation campaign starting from September 26, 2015.
With that objective, JMC starting this campaign 'Clean Jammu Abhiyan'. Plan of action is to take up 10 wards every day and clean it thoroughly. This will be followed by a massive awareness campaign involving oath taking, door to door campaign, nukkad natak, lectures, plantation drive.
Various schools are participating in this. Foremost among them is DPS, NSS, NCC. Many Market Associations like Apsara market association, Raghunath Bazaar market Association, Chamber of Commerce are taking part. Various Govt. departments like JKPCC, Urban Department, JDA are also working hand in hand with us.
Forest Department is playing an important role in helping us in launching plantation drive.
Police will have major role in regulating traffic and maintenance of law and order during this period.
Corporation also constitutes Mohalla Welfare Committees, which will look after the sanitation and civil works of those particular localities. We have created a link on our website giving details of the campaign and for registration of volunteers.
