Deputation calls on Bali Bhagat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: A Deputation of all Jammu and Kashmir Forest Officer Association under the chairmanship of Ravi Kumar, Provincial President of the Association called on Minister for Environment, Ecology Forest and Social Welfare and submitted memorandum of demands. According to press statement issued here, in memorandum, they demanded including removal of pay anomaly of range officers grade II, Forester, Deputy Foresters, Forest guards and Class-IV, Enhancement of 135 Posts of Range Officer Grade-II, Departmental promotion committee for Promotion of all cadres, Grant of risk allowance as 2 and half days extra Pay on the same anology of other departments. The deputation including Gurcharan Singh senior vice President, RS Jasrotia Vice President, Surjeet Singh Sumbria, Varinder Singh, Amardeep Singh, Arun Bhatti apprised the Minister for Forest that the forest field staff works around the clock under the tremendous pressure from the damage/habitual timber smugglers/MFP Smugglers/ encroachers and have succeeded to a lot in curbing down the nefarious activities of forest offenders. The well managed land mafia/timber smugglers are bent upon to sabotage the measures taken for protecting the forests, whenever the efforts for protection of forests are put into the top gear by the Forest Department, the forest offenders who are linked with various high profile persons / agencies manage to file fabricated complaint against the staff and even some time go for physical assault and damage to the personal property of the staff. Later, Minister for Environment, Ecology, Forest and Social Welfare gave patience hearing and assured the deputation that the Just and genuine demands will be considered. |
