FMPHWs protest, demand early release of salaries pending for over 10 months | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Sept 24: Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHW), Pharmacist and other serving in Kandi Health Zone in the district on Wednesday held a protest demonstration infront of Office Chief Medical Officer (CEO) and demanded immediate release of their salaries pending for the last 6-10 months. Protestors led by Farooq Mirza, District President of the Health Worker Association raising slogans against concerned authorities demanded early release of their salaries. Speakers alleged that not only the department has failed to release their salaries for the last many months but the employees have also been facing many problems for their routine works as Block Medical Officer (BMO) post at Kandi lying vacant for the last six months. "BMO, Kalakot has been given additional charge of BMO-Kandi who is sitting at Kalakot about 6o km from Kotranka (Kandi) tehsil headquarter, they alleged, adding, "it takes two days for an employee to come back at his/her place of posting from Kalakot." They appealed to the Health Minister, Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu to give drawing & disbursing powers either to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or to Deputy CMO till the permanent BMO was not posted at Kandi. Nagina Kousar, a Pharmacist said that they urged concerned officials well before to release pending salaries before Eid festivity but the delay will diminish spirit Eid festivity. Meanwhile Dr Chaman Bhasin, CMO Rajouri has assured the employees that soon their pending salaries shall be released. However, employees have warned the department that they will go on strike till their salaries were not released. |
