SVO-J produces challan against Ex Assistant Directors CAPD, others | CAPD, contractor nexus | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today produced challan in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda against three former Assistant Directors Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department Ramban and others on the basis of an enquiry conducted into the allegations of misappropriation of Rs.25,67,117/- to the state exchequer.According to an official spokesperson, SVO today produced challan against Safi-ud-Din Giri, Krishan Kumar Sharma, Zaffar-Ullah Bhat the then Assistant Directors CAPD Ramban, Daljeet Wadhera then Chief Accounts officer CAPD Department, Jammu and the private contractors in case FIR no10/2011 P/S Vigilance Organization Jammu in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda. "These officers during their posting in CAPD Department Ramban did not enter into contract agreement with the successful bidders (lowest tenderers) for transportation of food grains on routes namely Banihal to Makundbass-A, Banihal to Makundbass-B,Ramsoo to Ukhral and Ramsoo to Sumber but by misusing their official position wrongfully allowed the previous contractors to continue transportation of food grains by ignoring the new successful contractors, he said. Official added that these officers by misusing their official position hatched a criminal conspiracy with the previous contractors, thus caused a loss of Rs.25,67,117/- to the state exchequer and corresponding wrongful gain to themselves. "They (accused) also allowed release of CDRs wrongfully in favour of the successful bidders and did not sign contract agreement with them in-spite of the receipt of the legal notice on behalf of the successful bidders," the SVO Official said, adding the next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for October 14 |
