Jammu, Sept 24: Ramzanpura locality near Eid-Gah road falling under wards No 60 of the municipal limits is craving for attention as this locality is an excellent example of the government apathy which can be gauged from the fact this area sans basic facilities coupled with concerned departments who are entrusted with different tasks are apparently indifferent which turn this area into ancient one. Much hyped initiative "swachh Bharat Abhiyan" of PM has not any impact on this locality as residents have resentment against the JMC for turning blind eye towards this locality and which make them to bear the brunt. Castigating the Jammu Municipal Corporations for failure to live up to expectations of the masses, a local resident Wasim said," JMC motto “Keen to Serve” is mere an eyewash as they fail to redress our plight as chocked drains results in foul smell emanating which is harmful and there is breeding ground for mosquitoes due to this adding there is not any sweeper present in this locality since I am residing here since decade and with new JMC take steps afoot to provide grievance of masses I want to bring into her notice to relieve of the agony "he lamented. Nasreen another resident said living in the locality is like hell. She accused JMC of failure to ensure cleanliness in the area. "The JMC people come to take money but no sweeper comes to clean drains,' she rued. Residents allege that successive Commissioners of JMC failed to redress our grievances and even on the eve of Eid nothing has moved. Residents told Early Times with dengue cases on rise and with choked drains they get scared but who cares. The Commissioner JMC could not be contacted. |
