Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: Khalsa Club won Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament beating Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS ) Club 4-2 via tie breaker in the final played at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. The event was organised by Kashmir Sikh Sangat under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, in the stipulated time, Khalsa Club held MBS to a 1-1 draw which was followed by penalty strokes wherein Khalsa Club emerged triumph. Jaspreet Singh of MBS Simbal was declared man of the tournament while goal-keeper, Bhanu Partab Singh of Khalsa Club named man of the match. In the final and prize distribution function, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was chief guest while Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed and working president, SM Sahai was guest of honour. Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Javed Ahmed Shah and Member Legislative Council (MLC), Charanjit Singh Khalsa as also T S Wazir were also among the distinguished gathering. Among others present were Sewa Singh, KN Singh, Manjeet Singh, Karamjeet Singh, G S Bali, KN Singh (Kavi), S S Bali, Balbir Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Teeraj Singh, Gurdeep Singh Reen, Rajinder Singh. Matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Manjeet Singh, Kulwant Singh and DS Bhatia. |
