J&K Bank upgrades GMS Karanwara | | | Early Times Report jammu, Nov 21: As part of its vibrant initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Jammu & Kashmir Bank upgraded the infrastructure of a remotely located Government Middle School, Karanwara (Mahanpur) in district Kathua of Jammu province. The upgrade also includes the construction and establishment of a full-fledged computer laboratory in the school. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh inaugurated the computer lab in presence of Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, dignitaries amid a large gathering of villagers, students and staff of the school. The bank's Zonal Head Viney Sawhney and other senior officers of the bank were also present on the occasion. Dr Nirmal Singh was all praise for the bank's support while addressing a large gathering on the occasion. He said, "I am personally thankful to Chairman J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmad for his proactive support as if breathing a new life into the functioning of the school. As soon as we discussed the pathetic condition of the school at a meeting, the Chairman immediately deputed his team to assess the maximum possible level of intervention. Within such short span the bank provided the aid thereby turning around the complete disposition of the school. Precisely, the help in the form of computer lab with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, water purifiers, desks & chairs for the students and other furniture required for the school will remain a constant reminder to all about the generous support of the bank to this school." Shamsher Singh Manhas, PM (Rajya Sabha) was also very vocal in hailing the 'unforgettable' support of the bank to this remotely located middle school. The respectable villagers thanked the bank for bringing latest tools like computers etc at the doorsteps of local students. |
