| Truck carrying bovine animals 'set on fire' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 21: Agitated mob today set a truck allegedly carrying bovine animals, on fire here on National Highway near toll post Ban under jurisdiction of Nagrota Police Station. A case in this regard stands registered.
"The incident took place when a truck bearing registration number JK02U/8488, was carrying some bovine animals to Srinagar turned turtle near Toll Plaza, police sources said.
Sources further said, " Soon after the truck turned turtle, locals rushed to help the occupants of ill fated truck but to their surprise they found the truck was loaded with the bovine animals while the driver of vehicle have managed to escape from the spot.'
"Two of animals were killed in the accident which further has agitated the locals who set the truck on fire after rescuing the rest of animals," sources added. Police sources also added that twelve bovine animals were rescued while accident claimed the lives of two cattle. Meanwhile Nagrota police have registered a case in this connection and started further investigations in this regard. |
