| JMC conducts tour of Sabzi Mandi at Parade | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: To take first hand knowledge of the problems and difficulties being faced by the fruit and vegetable vendors, the Joint Commissioner (Adm) Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) visited Sabzi Mandi, Parade.
During the visit Joint Commissioner (Adm) JMC, RS Jamwal interacted with various fruit and vegetable vendors and they put forth their various issues regarding space available in Mandi and infrastructure .
Due to the nature of working of Sabzi/Fruit Mandi, there is always a huge dump of residue that become heaps and creates unhygienic condition in and around the area. The sanitation staff also directed to maintain proper sanitation in every nook & corner.
JMC undertook a cleanliness drive in Sabzi Mandi area where the choked drains were desilted. Beside this, the JMC lifts the garbage from the area on regular basis and the Market Association appreciated the working of JMC.
Further, representatives of Market Association highlighted one unsafe dangerous building and demanded that the building should be re-constructed as multi storey Sabzi Mandi Market, so as the space of the building should be utilized properly. Joint Commissioner (Adm) assures them that the demand will be discussed with higher authorities for the convenience of the fruit/vegetable vendors.
Among others Health Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Sanitation Officers and other field staff of Corporation were also present. |
